A recommendation consists of a physician’s written statement that marijuana will be medically beneficial in the patient’s debilitating condition. Prescription marijuana is not possible because prescription drugs are subject to extensive federal regulation. Thousands of doctors recommend marijuana under state medical marijuana laws, and so far, no one has been by the federal government.
The importance of certification for medical marijuana

- A statement, certified by a physician, that the physician plans to continue evaluating the eligible patient and eligible patient’s use of medical marijuana in the physician-patient relationship;
- Confirmation that the information provided in the written statement is true and correct.
- Physician’s signature and date of signature.
